TAXIS

Taking a taxi from the airport can be a pretty frustrating experience especially at peak times on peak days i.e. Thursday’s.

Local politics lay behind the problem with the taxi drivers licensed in one district refusing to allow taxi drivers from outside the district to collect passengers despite there often being long queues. It’s rubbish and we wish that they could just work together to sort it out. As of right now all we can suggest is that if you are planning to take a taxi from the airport to your holiday property and have to join the queue, please be patient and retain a sense of humour.

As with all airports we suggest that, having finally nabbed a taxi, you ask the driver how much the journey to your holiday location will be. A rough guide would be xx€ to Playa Blanca, xx€ to Puerto del Carmen and xx€ to Costa Teguise (bear in mind that night rates and bank holidays are different tariffs)

Asides from queues at the airport taxis are normally easily to find, fairly inexpensive and a great option if you’ve had a glass of Sangria or two.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Check As yet there is no public transport linking the airport to the main tourist areas of Playa Blanca, Puerto del Carmen and Costa Teguise.

If you are holidaying in one of these areas there are decent bus links from them to other areas of the island including Arrecife. Aside from these areas the island bus system is haphazard to say the least.

Other than a Camel or a Donkey ride that’s the full extent of Lanzarote’s public transport system.

CHAFFEUR SERVICE

We do offer a chauffeur service for those clients wanting to be collected from and returned to the airport. For pricing and availability please contact us.
